Full impact of shortages in social work felt
Sales consulting dropped from the top spot to seventh among the 28 work areas. The percentage of healthcare, social and legal consulting positions, in contrast, saw above-average growth to its highest level. The high demand for social workers, social education specialists, and physicians, was primarily responsible for this growth. The increase in demand for physicians is likely compensation for a drop last year.
Financial and asset consulting professions make up only a very small percentage of the overall sample. While bank and insurance sales specialists maintained their share from the previous year, real estate agents had very few jobs to choose from. The percentage of jobs for specialists who manage, broker and sell real estate is at its lowest level. Economic uncertainty and increasing interest rates are decelerating the real estate sector, which has been booming for many years.
Most professions in the information and design fields are unchanged from the previous year. Only marketing specialists are currently seeing an increase in available jobs. It is possible that employers fulfilled their needs last year, or are currently holding back on hiring in marketing.
