Production seeking laborers

Around half of all job advertisements in processing are directed towards electronics technicians (27.9 %) and production assistants (23.9 %). Both of these professions are among the top 10.

Metalworking professions are currently somewhat less well represented. Nevertheless, there is still plenty to do for job seekers in this area. System engineers for heating, sanitary, and air conditioning or welders have the best job market prospects (12th and 29th place). The high demand for production assistants has resulted in the “Machine operator” occupational area moved up for the first time among the ten areas with the highest percentage in the sample. It is possible that employers are more willing to compromise due to the shortage in skilled workers, and are placing more value on the practical experience of applicants than they have in the past.

Almost all professions in industrial production dropped slightly in the rankings, apart from metalworking professions. Only fitters of prefabricated (building) components enjoy a somewhat larger selection of open jobs. However, industries with little production in Germany, like leather or textiles, are subsumed within this occupational area.
