Rougher winds in construction
Production is the only occupational area with no professions among the top 25. Around seven out of ten positions are in the construction and renovation areas. Professions in structural and civil engineering show that times are growing tougher for construction due to increasing interest rates and material shortages. Nevertheless, the occupational area did reach its highest percentage in 2022 since the analysis began, and has now fallen back only to second place.
Demand remains high in the renovation area. Specialist craftsmen are utilized in both new construction and existing buildings. This means their occupational range is somewhat greater; even if residential construction drops, they will still find work renovating existing buildings. Growth was seen in particular among painters.
The occupational area of nutrition increased slightly. Employers are most often seeking sales personnel in the food industry and cooks. Around one in ten job advertisements in the occupational area is directed at job seekers in the Specialist shop assistants, food sector area, which is experiencing significant shortages.
